9 to 12 Months Before:

• Determine type of wedding you want 
  
• Select a wedding date and time
• Check with officiant to determine premarital requirements
• Reserve date and time for wedding and rehearsal
• Set a tentative budget
• Determine the size of the guest list
• Call Comanche Trace to book wedding reception
• Select and book wedding consultant, caterer, photographer, videographer and entertainment
• Choose ceremony music
• Select and book transportation
• Compile guest list
• Select wedding attendants and determine sizes
• Choose your dress and headpiece
• Schedule fittings and delivery date
• Select color scheme
• Select color scheme
• Begin planning honeymoon

6 to 9 Months Before:

• Announce your engagement in the newspaper
• Register your preferences at the bridal registries of your choice
• Maintain records of all the gifts received and send thank you notes immediately 
• Select florist, balloonist, and/or ice sculpture
• Begin shopping for men’s wedding attire
• Reserve rental supplies for the ceremony and reception

4 to 6 Months Before:

• Order invitations and related stationery
• Complete guest list
• Help mothers coordinate dresses
• Ensure bridal attire is ordered
• Shop for trousseau
• Check state marriage license requirements
• Select baker and order wedding cake, groom’s cake and mints
• Order favors

2 to 3 Months Before:

• Select and reserve men’s attire
• Draw map to ceremony and reception site for guests
• Address invitations and announcements
• Mail out-of-town invitations
• Purchase accessories such as ring pillow and toasting glasses
• Confirm ceremony details
• Arrange rehearsal details and plan rehearsal dinner
• Plan attendants parties
• Reserve beverage caterer
• Make wedding day appointment with hairdresser
• Finalize honeymoon plans

1 Month Before:

• Address and mail local invitations
• Get blood test for marriage license
• Final dress fitting
• Purchase gifts for participants and fiancée
• Complete trousseau shopping
• Have attendants party 
• Finalize rehearsal dinner details
• Finalize beverage and rental details
• Arrange for gown, bouquet and/or cake preservation

Two Weeks Before

• Finish addressing announcements
• Contact non-responding guests
• Pick up wedding rings
• Meet with photographer, videographer, and entertainer

One Week Before Wedding

• Provide guest count to Comanche Trace for meals
• Review details and timetables with vendors
• Plan seating arrangements
• Confirm honeymoon plans, pick up tickets and travelers checks. Pack for Honeymoon.
• Assign tasks to wedding party
• Practice applying makeup and styling hair
• Pick up attire and check fit
• Finalize transportation, cake, and floral details
• Give officiant’s fee to best man
