Comanche Trace

One of the Best Tour of Homes Ever

Posted by Reggie on August 1, 2014 at 3:09 AM

For the 1000+ people who attended the 2014 Texas Hill Country Tour of Homes at Comanche Trace, presented by Centennial Bank, thanks for coming and seeing for yourselves the variety of homes that we have to offer in one of the prettiest settings in the Hill Country. We were pleased to present 8 homes that represented a wide range of pricing and styles. For those of you who were unable to attend, take a look at what you missed.

The Builders really outdid themselves this year! The Tour of Homes just could not happen without our builders and owners who take so much of their time to present homes to the public. The decorators who come in to furnish and decorate them give a lot of time and effort to make each home perfect – often with very little time to make them shine. It is not unusual for the builders and decorators to be going out the back door as the judges come in the front.

While the builders and owners are the backbone of the Tour, the decorators are the sizzle.

The builders who participated this year are listed below. If you saw something you liked and would like to have them build your dream house, please give them a call.

The decorators who furnished and styled the homes for the Tour of Homes did an excellent job. The Tour is always greatly enhanced by these teams of magicians. We thank them for their efforts and if you are looking for someone to bring your home to life, give them a call. Most of them have stores here in the hill country and offer an exquisite selection of decorative items from furniture, art, linens, and lots of fun stuff. Check them out the next time you are looking for that special piece or need a whole house full. They are all excellent at turning your vision into reality.

The Tour kicked off with an awards presentation and dinner. The judges for these awards consist of 3 professionals including a developer/builder, architect, and interior designer who are not affiliated with Comanche Trace. They do a very thorough job of going through each home and painstakingly filling out their ballots. This year, every builder won at least one award.

In the under 3,000 sq. ft. category, Brad Moore Builders (4073 Comanche Trace Drive) won Best Kitchen, Best Master Suite, Best Outdoor Living Area, Best Floor Plan and Best Interior Design. BMC Homes (German Cottage #10) won Best Landscaping and Best Architectural Design. Arthur Schmidt Construction (2113 Toscano Way and 3592 La Cumbre Drive) won Best Craftsmanship and Best Overall Staging.

In the over 3,000 sq. ft. category, the balloting was very close, with several awards only a point or 2 apart. White Construction (3916 Kite Drive) won Best Master Suite and Best Outdoor Living. Anderson-Jenkins Signature Homes (1009 Club House Road) won Best Landscaping and Best Kitchen. Stavinoha Homes (3325 Arrowhead and 3925 Oak Park Drive) won Best Craftsmanship, Best Floor Plan, Best Overall Staging, Best Interior Design and Best Architectural Design.

Voting for People’s Choice award took place during the Tour. Over 1,000 people toured the homes and 504 of them submitted a ballot indicating their favorite. The winner of this prestigious award was Stavinoha Homes for 3325 Arrowhead Drive. Second place was 3916 Kite Drive built by White Construction. Third place was 3925 Oak Park Drive and fourth place went to 4073 Comanche Trace Drive. A big thank you to all of you who took time to vote!

Comanche Trace is proud of the Tour of Homes 2014. We are especially happy to make a donation to a local beneficiary each time we present a Tour. This year the donation will go to a very worthy recipient –Texas Lions Camp. This hard working and dedicated group make the camping experience possible for children between the ages of 7 and 16 with qualifying physical disabilities, children between the ages of 8 and 15 with Type 1 Diabetes and children between 12 and 16 with Down syndrome. There is no charge to the parents or family. All of you who attended the Tour of Homes helped make it possible for Texas Lions Camp to make camp available for more children. Thank you!
