While state testing is one important measure of educational excellence, using examinations as the single measure of success misses important aspects of schooling such as extra-curricular activities, student and teacher relationships, school climate, and student success after high school. Kerrville ISD excels in each of these educational areas and it is their pledge to focus on the academic, social, and emotional growth of each child during this era of heightened mandatory state testing.
On the financial front, despite reduced state funding to public education since 2011, KISD continues to provide the highest quality of education without raising taxes. Eleven of the last twelve adopted KISD budgets have either lowered the tax rate or kept the tax rate stable. Kerrville ISD has also earned a Superior Achievement rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas for the 12th consecutive year. KISD remains committed to financial stability even in these unstable economic times.
