Festivals

Kerrville Folk Festival
Eighteen days of musical events, starting the Thursday before Memorial Day at the outdoor theater at Quiet Valley Ranch. Excellent music by dozens of musicians throughout the duration of the festival including well known names. Food and beverages available. Total attendees range annually from 25,000 to 30,000.

Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair
Two hundred of the state's best artists and craftsmen are carefully selected to exhibit. On-site demonstrations of authentic Texas crafts, children's activities, food and entertainment. Kerrville Wine and Music Festival - Every Labor Day Weekend
A three-day condensed version of the internationally famous 18-day Folk Festival. Original songwriters and entertainers from all over the nation perform. Wine tasting, crafts, food services and camping are available. (830) 257-3680.


Kerr County Fair - Fourth Weekend in October
Among the activities featured are a parade through downtown Kerrville, carnival, contests, scholarship pageants, 4H & FFA livestock exhibits, food and drink, music, dancing, team roping, exciting bull riding and barrel racing contests, chili and barbeque cook-offs. Kerr County Market Days
We are a non-profit organization of growers, artists, craftspeople and food producers operating an open air market on the grounds of the beautiful Kerr County Courthouse Square.The Market takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month, April through December.

 

Recreation

Kerrville-Schreiner Park
Located on the Guadalupe River, this 500 acre park offers swimming, fishing and boating. Campsites, picnic tables and rest rooms with showers. Reservations recommended for campsites. Open year-round 8am-10pm for day use. Entrance fee for daily use and camping vary. Louise Hays Park
The Guadalupe River flows through the park making a delightful natural pool. Located in the heart of downtown, the park's beautiful grounds and shaded picnic tables make it an ideal spot for a day's outing. A foot bridge crosses the river to Tranquility Island where cypress trees tower over gently sloping grassy banks. Public rest rooms available.
Admission is FREE. 7:30am-11pm. Enter from Thompson Drive west of Sidney Baker South.

 

Riverside Nature Center
Features a unique arboretum with over 140 species of trees as well as cacti, wildflowers, shrubs, native grasses, birds, insects and other animals. Lost Maples State Natural Area
Nestled in the Hill Country, only 1 ½ hours southwest of Kerrville, the park is a combination of rugged limestone canyons, plateau grasslands, wooded slopes and clear streams. The only maple forest in Texas is located in this 2,174-acre park. 20 picnic sites, 30 campsites with water and electricity, eight designated primitive camping areas accessible to hikers.
