+ How is a new member integrated into the Club?

We will introduce you into a variety of golf games and skill levels and will continue to introduce you to different games until you are comfortable. We also have complimentary Quarterly Member Mixers where you will have an opportunity to meet many new friends.

 

+ My spouse does not play golf but would like to try. Are there any avenues that may make that possible?

Yes. There are three golf professionals on staff that would love the opportunity to teach your spouse the game of golf. In addition, we have the Twilight Couples' golf which is 9 holes of a scramble format followed by dinner.

 

+ Is there a Men's and Ladies' Golf Association?

Yes. We have very active men's and ladies' golf associations. The men play every Wednesday and the women play every Thursday. The men also have one Saturday event each month.


+ What is the average handicap of your Men's Golf Association?

Currently the average handicap is 14.

 

+ What are the fees associated with joining the Men's Golf Association (MGA)?

Annual MGA dues for 2010 are $60.00. This includes the annual dinner for you and a guest. It is also used to increase the purses and to add various prizes at certain tournaments throughout the year.


+ What are the fees associated with joining the Ladies' Golf Association (LGA)?

Annual dues are $60.00 and are used for the year-end luncheon as well as prizes and awards that are passed out at the event.

 

+ I am just learning to play golf and am a little intimidated by playing with MGA or LGA; what are my options?

Many of the MGA rounds are flighted to minimize those fears. And the LGA has implemented a 9-hole group in which the ladies who decide they only want to play 9-hole rounds can still participate in the LGA and be a part of the social aspect of the events.


+ Who was the architect of the golf course?

Tom Kite, Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell designed the first 18 holes of golf. Jay and Carter Morrish designed the latest nine holes, which opened July 2008.

 

+ What will become of my membership fee if I decide to leave Comanche Trace?

Your Full or Limited Golf Membership is 100% refundable.


+ What will the Membership Fees be in the next couple of years?

Most likely it will increase as needed to continue balanced management. The fee to join could range from approximately $35,000 to $50,000.

 

+ How is the Club's financial situation?

In this industry, it is unheard of for a club this young to be financially stable this soon. We are very proud of the fact that our Club has operated in the black for the past several years.

 

+ Has the Club ever made unexpected changes to the dues schedule?

No. The membership has been apprised of any dues increases well in advance; our membership is given our business plan on expected increases for years to come and the Club has been on plan for the past 5 years. The membership is also not responsible for any of the Club's financial losses. The membership plan states that there will be no assessments.

 

+ What publications are available to keep us informed of Club activities?

We have an annual Event Calendar, a bi-monthly magazine, and weekly e-mail blasts delivered to all members, plus full online access through the Club's website.

 

+ Is there any online access to my membership?

Yes, our website is fully accessible with an events calendar, access to your personal account, roster of members and up-to-date Comanche Trace Real Estate and news releases.


+ Are you automatically a member when you buy property at Comanche Trace?

No, your membership purchase is separate from your real estate purchase.

 

+ Is Comanche Trace a private club?

Yes, Comanche Trace is a private facility and golf course, the Pinnacle Grill is open to the public.


+ How old is Comanche Trace?

Comanche Trace was opened December 16, 2000.

 

+ What type of grasses do you have on your golf course?

Our greens are considered the best in Texas. The grass is a blend of Crenshaw and L93 Bent Grass. Our fairways and tee boxes are Bermuda Tiff Sport. The fairways and tee boxes are over-seeded with Winter Rye Grass. We skip the over-seed occasionally as the USGA recommends. The average STIMP reading of our greens is 10.5 to 11.

 

+ May you own your own cart?

Yes, you may own your own cart. Your cart must match the existing make and model of the Club's fleet. Your cart needs to be the latest model, it must be white, and must be approved by the membership director.


+ What type of memberships are offered?

We offer Full Golf Resident, Full Golf Non-Resident, Junior Full, Junior Limited, Corporate, Limited, Social, and Annual Non-Resident Memberships.

 

+ Does Comanche Trace offer Non-Resident dues if I intend on being here less than 6 months of the year?

Yes, the Non-Resident dues are offered if you will be on property less than 6 months a year. Currently the non-resident dues are $305 per month.

 

+ What is the average age of the membership?

49.6 years of age.
